Tuesday

Another busy day.

I got a ton done at the office. I am so glad I am finally getting some stuff done. I got in my end of the year stuff (that I ordered late) so I can put away 08 records and neatly keep 09 records and all that stuff. Hopefully tomorrow I will have the switch totally done.

I went ahead and left right at 3 today and took out for Wichita. I knew I was on limited time but I picked up massive amounts of groceries and a few small things for Alex's birthday. I got him a combo gift and gave it to him for Christmas. We talked about it before and he knew he wasn't going to get much else for Christmas or his birthday but I still feel weird about it I have never done the combo gift before I am not sure I will again either. I do know he will REALLY like what he is getting for his birthday though and I know that he in no way shape or form anything but spoiled. I do wish I didn't wait so long to get groceries though. I really only go once a month though and then buy milk and very few odds and ends here in town. I know that is wrong ya cant help your community survive if ya don't support it. Really though at our store here in town the exact same red Barron frozen pizza that Alex loves is$5.99 and at walmart its $4.25 (and was even $3.33 today) its that way for SO many things even when gas was so high it still paid to drive the 35 miles to Wichita and stock up. No its not worth going for milk but goodness. It is not a wining situation for either side.

I got back we quickly ate and went to Scouts. I was grumpy with my group. We were to finish up a badge tonight. The badge we are working on is a required badge for their Eagle and when we will start another required badge next meeting and I am teaching that one too. Of course only 2 of the 6 show up having done what they were supposed to. I tell the boys up front when I am teaching a required badge that I will not hold their hands or remind them of what has been assigned - since it is a required badge its up to them to be responsible. I do know that with the exception of the new boys that just moved up they have also seen me with fun badges and know that's not the case but I still wanna baby them and give them every opportunity etc. It leaves me feeling crummy. I was very clear with them though what each of them needed to finish and that they had to set up an "appointment" with me so that they had my time to be able to finish what they have left because at the next meeting we will be starting a new - also required badge - so I couldn't devote time to something that they should have already completed. Its fine. I have explained and given assignments and we have done most of the work as a group and reviewed etc. If ya hold their hand they will always expect it and wont work on their own.

We went ahead and stopped by the hospital to tell grandma good night on the way home. We walked in to my mom asleep in grandma's bed and grandma in the bathroom. I woke up mom and talked to her for a bit and then we told grandma goodnight and all went home.

Alex is in the tub and looks quite tired.

Tomorrow we are making desserts for a thing at church on Thursday evening. We are making a cheesecake and 2 key lime pies. We are about to start the Walk to Jerusalem program so I made an effort to make healthier desserts than I would have normally - I went to Trish's prevention website to find healthy versions of the things I already wanted to make. lots to choose from.

tomorrow is also eyebrow wax and hair cut day. I am SO ready to have two eye brows again.

oh yeah I had a funny ha ha thing happen today. I had a whole cart full of things and this guy was behind me in line and had literally one thing so I asked him if he would like to jump ahead of me. He didn't (the checker was his roomie) and when I lifted up my pizzas he laughed and said I thought those were pies for a sec and I laughed and said they were my son's fav and I wont buy them in Kingman blah blah and so he asks how old my son is and I said he will be 13 on Friday and his eyes got real big and said really? and then smiled and said well I'm 22 and I still like frozen pizza too. I had to giggle it was one of those your how old looks LOL too funny. Kinda an off handed complement. I shouldn't giggle though cuz I really am not old enough to have a kid that age.

I should have stopped and gotten my watch and earrings from Aaron today. But I just didn't take the time. Who knows when I will go again without Alex too. I really think I just don't wanna go. I will make a point to at some time.
