What a busy weekend!

I knew this weekend was going to be big at one point I thought I could have fallen asleep standing up. It was great though - we got to do so many things and got stuff accomplished too.

Friday I managed to get outta the office about on time - which isnt always a routine thing on Fridays. I got my hair cut - it looked super cute when she did it but I have yet to manage that again - I hope I can too cuz ~sigh~ I just hate looking like a slob. Then we set up for Prairie Land food, ate supper and went to the Relay for Life. The scouts were asked to light the luminaries this year. For one thing I wouldn't have told the person how asked no (he is such a nice man who I have known for 20 years and his wife is the sweetest) but for another its always a good thing to do a little give back to the community and to be a little more public. We have this thing called "scout time" it used to drive me crazy but its just part of the scout program (probably the same for any large group) I guess. So I told the kids to be there 15 mins before we were asked to be and I asked 2 more than we needed because it seems like someone doesn't show even though they said they would. Wonders never cease cuz they all showed up and on time or early even. We didn't get home till almost 11 and I didn't get to sleep till almost one.

Saturday started very early with Prairie Land Food. Our truck is coming earlier because of a change in the route and this was the first pickup with the new time. It was a good thing my mom called to let me know they were on their way (she is one of the drivers on food pickup day) because I was having the strangest dream and my alarm had been going off for almost 45 mins. But it all ended up fine - no worries. I didn't manage to make it to the bank like normal but then I went out to our almost former scout family's house who are in process of moving to get the final directions for a project we are going to do. He wrote down the instructions while we were at camp this summer so I knew we had to get them before they left town. then I came home and bathed (again) and got ready to go to the races. Its an annual scout thing and so far I had managed to not have to go for various reasons. Lets just say its loud and not something I would do on a regular basis whatsoever. It was a good experience though - always up for a new adventure. We didn't get home until almost one am though.

Today I tried to over sleep again - good thing I had to go to the bathroom about 8. Got the kid up and ready and off to sunday school and honestly I think I dozed off cuz all the sudden church is going to start in half an hour and I have not even had a bath yet. I got there in good time and had to walk in the pouring rain to get there but it was a wonderful service. then we stopped at the store - I really do know better than to take the kid because my simple three things grew into several more and $35 but thats ok none of it will be a waste. Then we had lunch and were off to see grandma. She was quite clingy today. *shakes head* enough said about that. Anyway then Alex had youth group and I had him leave early today so..... Yes thats right after 15 months the piano has been moved! I had an email at the office on Friday that the piano tuner is comming Wednesday and I just knew this was our chance! The scout trailer is still empty from the fireworks stand so I asked dan if he would drive it for me and sure enough he said he would. I asked Richie and 2 of his friends plus my mother's ex/current /whatever bf thing got it moved from her house to ours! Alex has messed with it all evening. It will make his practice time MUCH easier. He started taking lessons last year because he wants to switch from sax to percussion. Im not sure why his instructor requires piano for percussion but she does so here we go. I actually think he enjoys it too. We also ended up rearranging our living room. The piano couldnt go where I thought it would because of a return air thing for the heating and cooling but it ended up being a good thing we rearranged. We found several dollars in change and the missing remote, but also I found that the kid has once again started stuffing trash behind the furniture and tv stand. I had found that we had this issue when he was 5ish when we moved from our house here and the apartment in Paola. I didnt think we were still having that problem because there was no evidence of that sort of thing when we moved from the Paola house or our Apartment to here BUT in the last almost 4 years it has started again. Needless to say he cleaned up his own trash mess (filled a whole trash bag). ~sigh~ oh well I kinda like the rearranged living room and my mother of course hates it - kinda like my hair - so of course that just makes it that much better. but the piano and both doors are easily accessable and we can watch TV in the recliners without hurting our necks AND we can even pull out the sofa sleeper thing without having to move anything. I think thats an accomplishment AND the one large room is more like two smaller ones with one side being the neat living room and the other being the horribly disorganized office. Maybe the office will become neat too - maybe even soon? oh yeah I also made Beir-rock casserole tonight. It was really good and much easier than regular bierocks.

I have lots to do this week and this weekend is a long weekend. we don't have a thing planned except the normal trip to see grandma. BUT Friday night is also dinner out night. I think Brandy is going to go with me. She is a sweetie and I am very glad her scout group is once again with ours. That year with her still in cubs and us in boy scouts was good but I sure missed her.

Its going to be a great week!
